The Practice
I always seem to land somewhere in the middle.
Not quite a marketer. Not quite a designer. Not quite an event planner, though I have built a tablescape or twelve. I’m an analytical creative, a daydreamer and a doer, and most of what I do sits in the space between those categories, which is exactly where the good ideas tend to hide.
How People Find Me
It usually starts with a text.
Can you Photoshop this for me quick?
Will you make the playlist for the party bus?
What color should I paint my walls?
Do these jeans look too young?
I saw this thing and I want to do something like it. Where do I even start?
Help me plan my son’s birthday party.
None of those are technically a job description. But they are, somehow, the job. Somewhere along the way I stopped trying to narrow it down to one lane and started calling it a practice instead, because that word covers the range of my work.
How I Work
A few ways in, depending on what you need.
I can help you think an idea through, or I can take it off your plate entirely. I can teach you how to do something, work alongside you while you do it, or disappear into the details and come back when it’s finished. Some people want to know exactly how the sausage is made. Some would strongly prefer not to. Both are fine with me. Tell me which kind of help you’re after and the rest of the process follows from there.
What That Means
One practice, a few lanes.
The practice covers marketing, branding, web and digital work, and event and occasion planning, shaped around whatever a project calls for. Most of what lands on my desk needs more than one of those at once, so I treat them as one practice with a few different lanes.
My Background
The design instincts come from years of working inside brands before I started building this one. The rest, apparently, just comes naturally.
“No idea is too big. No detail is too small.”
